Austin Voth Signs Letter of Intent to University of Washington |
University
of Washington baseball coach Lindsay Meggs has received National Letters
of Intent from nine high school seniors and one junior college sophomore
who will join the Huskies for the 2011 season. The 10 players who signed
letters did so during the early signing period, which began Nov. 11.
The 10 signees include RHP Austin Voth from the Kentwood class of 2010.The Washington Huskies report that Voth pitches and plays first base at perennial power Kentwood. A tall right-hander, he has made a jump in fastball velocity. In 2008, he struck out 87 in 52 innings for his summer team and he's also played in the Area Code Games. "Austin is a long, loose right-handed pitcher, about 6-foot-3," Meggs stated. "He has very good velocity, already 90 to 92. He's someone who can be a Friday or Saturday starter very early in his career here." |
