Northwest has published their ranking of Northwest players
highlighting the regions' top prospects as evaluated by the Baseball
Northwest professional evaluators. The Class of 2010 Top Player
List includes Kentwood seniors Austin Voth, Matt Bell, Taylor White and
Craig Rainey with Austin ranked at #16. The Class of 2011 Top
Player List includes Kentwood junior Avery Kain. The Class of 2012 includes Taylor Jones, Lucas Gately, Skyler Genger, and Cash McGuire. Taylor Jones is ranked at #3 in the Washington Top Players list for the class of 2012. The complete list is

Baseball Northwest Top Player List. The Baseball Northwest list is done to promote and inspire players and also to promote the game. Some college and high school coaches, and professional scouts are consulted but the final lists are put together by the Baseball Northwest staff as a whole. The lists do not reflect the opinion of any specific high school, college, or professional organization. The evaluators consider the long term potential of a player, the potential of a player at the next level, and not necessarily the success or stats of a high school player. The complete ability of the player is considered, including their desire to play and improve, because this has proven to make a difference in their long term development. |
